The picture above was taken by Mathew Brady in 1862. The picture strongly depicts the sadness of war and the feelings it involves. In the picture it is shown the burial of many people from the Union after being killed in the Battle of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Sadly, the Union lost about 13,000 people during that battle. The sentiments and feelings that the picture reveal are impressing. It shows people mourning for their dead.

The Battle of Fredericksburg was one of the many battles of the Civil War of the United States of America. It was the battle that hold the most number of people fighting in the Civil War: nearly 200,000 combatants. "The Battle of Fredericksburg, fought December 11-15, 1862, was one of the largest and deadliest of the Civil War." The battle was not only special because it featured the largest number of people, but also because It featured the first major opposed river crossing in American military history.

Burnside was the commander of the Union troops. The Confederates were guided by General Robert E. Lee. Both sides suffered heavy losses. "Burnside’s “diversion” against veteran Confederate soldiers behind a stone wall produced a similar number of casualties but most of these were suffered by the Union troops." The south resulted victorious. But also with sad feelings because they also lost a great number of people, although they won the battle.

Summer Vacations 2012

My name is Roman Arguello. I live in Managua, Nicaragua and I am currently studying at Lincoln International Academy. My summer vacations started actually one week before than the vacations of the rest of my classmates. The reason of why they started before is that I got exempt from every semester test the school required me to take. This made me very happy because I got one extra week for my summer vacations 2012. More importantly, it made my parents to be proud of me.

The first weeks of my vacations were for me to take a rest from school and any kind of work. I enjoyed staying up late at night just chatting with my friends and waking up very late. In these days my brothers (Guillermo, Fernando, and Adriana) used to go to tennis or swimming classes. So they waked up early and came to the house around noon, leaving the house empty for me to sleep in silence. If I felt like going to the gym or just meeting up with my friends, I would just grab the cars keys and drove myself.

The last month was the part of my vacations in which I traveled a little. Even though I stayed within the boundaries of Nicaragua, I traveled by airplane. My destiny was Corn Island. During my stay in the island, I visited the coral reefs. While at the coral reefs, I did snorkeling that was actually very fun. Also, I fished for my first time with a spear-gun. I also had the chance to visit Little Corn Island. To get to Little Corn Island I had to go on a boat that made my brother very dizzy. The next day I returned to Managua and two weeks later I went fishing.

Greek Financial Debt Crisis Only Part of EU's Woes

Greek crisis has accelerated the European Union's crisis. The EU crisis began when they aborted the attempt to write a constitution where you could find ratification. They also tried to expand the EU to 27 members. These events terminated postwar Europe's attempt to establish a political federation.

However they could create a common currency, the euro. The euro had almost doubled the value of the dollar but is know falling back.

Much of this problems are now being accelerated by Greeks crisis.

Egyptian Archaeologists Uncover Sphinx Enclosure Wall at Giza

The 3,400-year-old wall on the Giza plateau part that was covered was finally uncovered by a group of archaeologists. The wall was built by Thutmose IV under the pretext of "Sphinx appeared to him in a dream complaining that it was being choked by sand."
A third, older section of wall that is believed to be part of a settlement for priests and officials was also uncovered. The government is also going to build another wall for protection to the things they uncovered.
